A PUBG nickname âfontâ is not a font file: it is your PUBG Mobile or BGMI name rewritten with Unicode letters that happen to look bold, cursive, gothic or boxed. Type a name in the tool above to see it in every style. Below: which of the 138 working style definitions behind that tool keep their look when a system cleans up names, and how to copy one without losing characters.
Which font styles work inside a PUBG or BGMI name box?
There is no official answer: neither Proxima Beta, the publisher of PUBG Mobile, nor KRAFTON, the publisher of Battlegrounds Mobile India, lists which Unicode letters a nickname may use. What decides a style’s chances is where its letters come from, how many UTF-16 units each letter takes, and whether NFKC normalisation rewrites it. The table shows those facts for the most-used styles on this site.
| Style on this site | âLegendâ in that style | Where the letters come from | UTF-16 units | After NFKC | NFKC result |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|

Three patterns stand out. First, every âmathematicalâ style (Bold, Italic, Script, Gothic, Outline, Sans, Mono) uses letters above U+FFFF, so âLegendâ takes 12 UTF-16 units instead of 6 â 63 of the 138 working styles here double the length of a name. Second, Script, Gothic and Outline are not complete alphabets in one block: letters such as â and ⯠come from the older Letterlike Symbols block because the mathematical block leaves gaps where they already existed. Third, the Regional style uses the letters that phones combine into flags, so pairs of them can turn into a flag: in âLegendâ the letters G and E sit next to each other and many phones draw the flag of Georgia there.
Why did my fancy font turn into plain text?
Because the app you pasted it into applied NFKC, a standard Unicode normalisation that maps âcompatibilityâ letters back to the ordinary letters they were based on. ð·ððððð in Bold Fraktur is, character by character, âbold fraktur capital Lâ, âbold fraktur small eâ and so on; NFKC replaces each with L, e, g, e, n, d. The style is gone, but nothing was deleted â the name was cleaned.

We ran every style definition the generator on this site uses through NFKC (one definition, âMirrorâ, produced broken output and was left out). Of the 138 that work:
- 58 look exactly the same afterwards. Small Caps, Curvy, Tribal, Retro, Elegant, Slavic, Dark Circled, the accented styles and the line styles built on them use characters that have no compatibility mapping.
- 50 keep their lines but lose their letters. âBold Lineâ, âGothic Strikeâ and the other combined styles come back as plain letters with the underline, strike or halo still attached.
- 19 turn fully plain. All thirteen mathematical alphabets, plus Wide, Circled, Superscript and Subscript, become ordinary text; Squared and Tiny also change case.
- 11 change only some characters, such as Techno, where the half-width ïŸ becomes ã¬, or Bracketed, where ð becomes â(L)â.

Whether PUBG Mobile or BGMI normalise names is not documented, so treat this as a way to choose styles that are robust wherever you paste them â a chat, a clan description, another game â rather than as a statement about the games. If you want a name that keeps its look everywhere, pick from the 58.
How do I copy a font style safely without losing characters?
Use the Copy button next to the style instead of selecting the text by hand, and paste it once without editing. Styled names often contain characters you cannot see.
- Copy with the button. The line styles attach an invisible combining mark after every letter (U+0336 for strike, U+0332 for underline). A finger selection on a phone can stop halfway through a letter and leave the mark behind.
- Paste in one go. Do not retype a letter in the middle of a styled name: your keyboard inserts the plain letter, and the name becomes a mix of two styles.
- Count before you commit. The counter under the tool stops at 24 characters, which is this site’s own limit, not the game’s. Remember that mathematical styles take two UTF-16 units per letter, so a long name in ððžðµð ð¢ð¬ð»ð²ð¹ðœ uses up space twice as fast as the same name in Small Caps.
- Check the preview. Renaming uses a Rename Card, and the first card is free at Level 10. The full steps are in our guide on changing your name in BGMI.
Frames and tags are a separate layer: you can add a symbol around any style. Our table of nickname symbols with their U+ codes shows which of those NFKC changes too.
Sample names in styles that hold up
These 18 examples were generated with the tool above using only styles from the âlooks the sameâ group, with one frame each. They survive NFKC unchanged, so they are a safe starting point. Tap one to copy it.
For a name built around BGMI specifically, the BGMI nickname style page starts from the same tool with names grouped by theme.
Font names players have shared
These nicknames were submitted through the share box on this site and use at least one Unicode font alphabet. They are shown exactly as written; many mix two or three styles in one name.
Warriors, rajas and nawabs
Storm, falcon and panther
Yash, Karan, Sahil and Vikram
Emoji and kaomoji to finish a styled name
A soft emoji combination or a small text face works well in a bio next to a styled name. Emoji take two UTF-16 units each, so keep them out of the name itself if space is tight.
Questions about nickname fonts
Are these real fonts or Unicode characters?
Unicode characters. A real font changes how the same letters are drawn and cannot be copied into a game; these styles replace your letters with different characters that are drawn in a decorative way by whatever font the phone already has.
Do font styles show the same on every phone?
No. Each phone draws the characters with its own fonts, so ð¢ð¬ð»ð²ð¹ðœ can look thinner on one device and bolder on another, and a phone with no font for a block shows empty boxes. The characters stored in the name are identical either way.
Why are some letters in a style a slightly different shape?
Because they come from a different Unicode block. In Script, â, ⯠and â are older Letterlike Symbols while the other letters are from the mathematical block, and some fonts draw the two sets differently.
